Don't listen to this guy, Pablo Honey is really good.

Bright Eyes on the other hand, you have to have a unique taste to really enjoy, so I'd steer clear of that music until you're used to Radiohead's weirder stuff.

You have to admit Pablo Honey is not at the level of The Bends, OK Computer, or even Kid A. I'll give you Amnesiac but thats it...

As for Bright Eyes, the most accessible is probably "I'm Wide Awake It's Morning" but the best is "Lifted Or The Story Is In The Soil, Keep Your Ear To The Ground". Some of the stuff can be tough to get into, especially if you don't appreciate lyrics and an emotive voice as much as the instrumental music.

Jack Johnson - Brushfire Fairytales. Acoustic rock I suppose. Very chill and mellow.

Pulp - one of the best and underrated bands of the 90s. They had a unique sound, sort of disco/glam rock/Britpop and the Bowie-like vocals. Their music always puts me in a good mood and the lyrics are some of the best ever.

My ride to work has that CD, its pretty good if you want mellow music.

My picks: Any Cake album. Sure, their songs sound the same, but they're all good!

Caroline's Spine. Yes, I'm still pimping them but just about no one listens to them.

311- Greastest hits is a good place to start, also 311 and transistior are good CD's.

Metallica is a given. ;)

Yeah I've been in a weird mellow kick recently. Of course, today, I drove to the mall listening to that CD, and I picked up Arch Enemy's newest and Lamb of God's Ashes of the Wake and popped that in on the drive home. Certainly made for an odd transition going from Jack Johnson to Lamb of God :D

Young Jeezy - Thug Motivation 101

Any Beatles, Any Zeppelin except Presence or Coda, The Wall or Dark Side by Pink Floyd

Also, I hate the 2nd to last Wilco album, haven't heard the newest one though.

For your more metal needs you cannot go wrong with The Scorpions....I was listening to Lovedrive earlier. Brought back memories of 1979.

rage against the machine (all albums)

mos def - the new danger (a good number of songs feature mos' rock band 'black jack johnson'. heavy riffs, guitar solos, a lot of hip hop fans hate it because they think its too rock. luckily i appreciate different genres)
