Dr. Amen seem to be a quack, however that doesn't discount the fact that PET/SPECT scans could be useful but not in the overblown way that Amen is promising.

It would make sense that a psychiatrist would order a bloodwork test first and a PET/SPECT scan would rule out some options. They(doctors in general and psychiatrists) can see a lot these days. For example, my bloodwork had high Potassium levels but everything else was okay. I do consume a banana a day and apart from heaving a bad physical condition(which i am slowly improving) i am more or less healthy.

No offense to the OP but I'm very skeptical of Amen's claims. He's had many years to put forth some credible evidence based upon sound scientific research. I guess if your banking millions selling snake oil there isn't much incentive to become evidence based.

The brain pictures are pretty though.

Felt like watching an infommercial. Was waiting for the part that scrolls a 1-800 number along the bottom and a limited time offer to buy his book or something
