Some of you guys jeez, quit with the bullying and let the guy post without the insults. Discuss the message not the messenger. Pretty soon it will just be folks who agree each other left on this forum. Cause it definitely aint growing,

You're not getting the Darwinian nature of this place. If a person says one stupid thing you jump on it so they feel awful and then let it go. If a person militantly insists upon making a gargantuan fool out of himself over a stretch of many years on a single subject where he is more wrong than any other person that ever lived, we HAVE to abuse him mercilessly. It's the law.

2016-12-29 still no e-cat in Wally World.

Adlep's research on creating an e-cat is making progress.

Actually kinda sad. It appears there were some legitimate scientists working on related projects:

"The E-Cat phenomenon garnered a fair share of satire on the Internet, but the widespread repercussions were damaging to the LENR field. In 2012, the commander of the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San Diego shut down LENR research at the base after Fox News published a false association of the SPAWAR researchers with Rossi." - http://newenergytimes.com/v2/sr/RossiECat/Andrea-Rossi-Energy-Catalyzer-Investigation-Index.shtml
The fact that a fraudster has now made acquiring capital funding for research in the field next to impossible makes me angry. I know this type of white collar crime frequently goes unpunished but there should be plenty of evidence at this point to convince a DA to at least try and add another conviction to Rossi's rap sheet.

Reminds me of Solar Roadways or the Batterizer. (The batterizer actually started to ship! EEvblog got his hands on some)

The point of these type of projects is to get people to fund them, then they run with the money when everyone realizes it does not work.

This reminds me so much of Blacklight Power (now Brilliant light power). They claimed to have discovered a new way to make energy that somehow relies on the existence of matter (specifically hydrogen) below the ground state.

Or the batteriser. LOL. Hey, at least they actually shipped! They don't work (well they do but they don't provide the stated results, because physics), but at least they exist. So many of these Indonogo and kickfarter things never even see the light of day.

After more than five years spent fruitlessly rehashing the same wistful e-cat claims, I really think this thread is overdue for a "mercy lock".

Solar Roadway is an idea that's coming around. Places like airport tarmacs would be a great place to start imo.

Zero-point energy (or vacuum energy) is actually a real thing, but most likely can never be accessed. Work can only be done if energy is transferred from one level to another, so how do you get to a level below zero?

There are no rules saying negative energy can't exist, and its existence is the basis for things like the Alcubierre warp drive. We've also learned in physics if there are no rules something can't exist, there's a good chance that it does. Unfortunately we're most likely 100's of years off (if it's at all possible) from being able to use such technology.

Looking at Brilliant Light's website, it looks like they're using new concepts of old technology (namely fuel cells and photo cells). If they came up with some kind of new efficiency technique they may be on to something. Not enough information to tell though.

I agree with most of what you said. As for lack of information - Mills (the guy who runs Brilliant Light Power) has proposed an entirely new theory of physics (the "Grand Unified Theory" or "GUT" to explain the alleged physics behind his findings. Much of the GUT is detailed on his website.

Long story short - Mills has been trying to sell his tech for over 20 years now, always promising that its "just around the corner." Amazingly, his generators that produce limitless, pollution free energy have yet to penetrate the market.

For an interesting read about Mills (from the standpoint of an obvious fan), check out the following:
