Possibly getting sued... by a friend? Update: Talked to "friend"

Maybe your friend told his insurance company about his cut on the neck, and his insurance company in turn sued u for the damages....

As your friend first, before jumping to any conclusions...

Call your insurance company and send them this letter. Be sure to keep a copy of it. They ins co will take your side of the story down. Don't worry. The ins co has many lawyers and if it wasn't your fault, then you need not to worry.

I'd be willing to bet that your friend is trying to fraud the ins co. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point he asks you to lie a little bit about his condition so he can get a claim check.

Thanks 🙂

Sorry after spending 10,000 in divorces and ending up with squat. I cam to that conclusion.

Did he goto the hospital for his injury? if so, what's wrong with trying to get your insurance to pay for the medical bills?

There are many kinds of lawyers out there - family, personal injury, bankruptcy, patent, prosecutors, criminal defense, immigration, etc. 🙂 Some are bloodsuckers, but the great majority work too hard for too little. Trust me on this one.

Sorry about your experiences, and I hope that you have learned to avoid the altar in the future.

Did he go see a doctor after the accident, and is he covered by any medical plan?

If so, then it's probably his medical insurance going after your auto insurance insurance. I doubt he knows anything about it. If he said he was in a car accident at the doctor's office, they gave him extra forms to fill out with car registration/insurance info before they'd examine him, which enables the medical plan to attempt to weasel out of paying the claim by asking your auto insurance to pay instead.

your insurance company should be taking care of anything like this... unless you have a crappy insurance company.

it sort of sounds like you were both driving like idiots (cars spinning, crashing, and flying at 45 mph? please!), you ran him off the road, and now he's going to collect $$ and get a new car out of the deal. Sucks to be you, but that's what insurance is for.

Affirmative...never again...

Your "friend" is merely trying to screw money out of the insurance company. Similar to the girl who sued her pparents for falling down their stairs. She's actually sueing their insurance company. Your friend sucks!

UPDATE:

I talked to him at work, he claimed he had no idea whats going on. I asked him "what kind of injuries" he was talking about, and his "back hurt". I kept insisting he was lying. Later in the day, I went to go visit him and he said he still claimed he didn't know about it. He asked for a copy of the paper (i showed it to him), and hes going to show his mom.

While he was sliding to the right, he went off the road, and hit some car parked there. For who knows what reason its off the side of a pretty busy/fast street is beyond me, considering theres 2 shopping centers within walking distance. His car hit the parked car, and he totally screwed up the front of his car, and the car that was parked, ended up flying into a tree.
He hit a car with a Toyota Corolla so hard, the parked car flew into a tree. Yet, you don't think he may have gotten hurt?

He wasn't hurt. He was playing baseball last month. We went out to the movies within the next week of the accident. He said he was okay, and never complained about it since he mentioned it. Its not like I drove off then asked him about it later.

Grass was wet, and the tree was "downhill", and the parked car was just as small as his (some car from Eagle that looks like a Geo Prism), so its not as bad as you are trying to make it seem.
no... it's not as bad as you tried to make it seem in your original thread.

So you wanted me to include every single factor involved? Would you like the ambient temperature as well? What color each car was? How far the tree was from the road?

My claim in the original thread was, the parked car flew into a tree. I didn't say it did a 360 and a backflip into the air and knocked down a forest before it stopped.

Well maybe he really didn't know about it... It's entirely possible that his insurance company is doing all this without him knowing... Don't jump to conclusions...

You could be 100% correct, I'm not mad at him, I'm in a "WTF" kinda attitude.

I'm hoping he gives me some update on why this is happening, and whos doing it. I'm going to mail the letter to my insurance company, and we'll see what they have to say.
