Just like ghoul, I checked the Roseville store in Michigan and came up empty handed. I also checked the store in Warren and they were empty too. So I'm praying that my good ole store in Sterling Heights has one because I'm going to be there once the doors open. That deal would be so incredibly hot, it gives me chills.

Hey, I am from Grosse Pointe, Michigan . . . just at school in Dayton, OH now . . . if that deal works at Sterling heights, pick one up for me . . . I can arrange for a parent to pick it up for me and give you a nice "tip" for helping me out.

Thanks,
Ryan

yeah, I thought about that... it's just fun watching everybody go krazy about it... however, it could very well be a prank. Wouldn't surprise me in the least...

If it is a prank then Walmart is going to be really pissed with all the calls they've been getting.

Umm yea, went two wal-marts, and asked them if they have the dvd-rw, but they're like whattt?? and i was like dvd-rw and one lady told me boomboxes were on the other side. i was like watttt. no one at wal mart has any idea wat a dvd-rw is or for that fact wat -rw means. i think this was a local deal, veryyy hard to find a dvd-rw in walmart. they can barely sell computers.

Someone needs to edit the title of this thread to point out that the deal is DEAD... noone is going to get one of these drives at this price because either walmart doesn't even carry the product or has already corrected the pricing error.

Get over it.

Yes, this deal seems to be very much like hitting the lottery. We should make a new thread with a scan of a winning lottery ticket and encouraging everyone to go out and buy a ticket! Anyways, went to Wal-Mart in Franklin, TN...no go. Nor any price tag where it should go. It was nice dreaming for a minute though!

Don't be too sure this is not legit or real. I have three people going to a Walmart right now which claims they have PLENTY in stock for $78. I will report back when I can.

i'm here in waco, tx and just came back from BOTH superwalmarts...

the guy said that they DIDN'T EVEN CARRY A LINE OF DVD burners...the only burners they had were the HP cd burners going for $117 (blah)

had my brother in houston drive to the superwalmart near our house (off of fry and I-10) and he confirmed a NEGATIVE as well...

then called two of my friends to each check a different superwalmart in austin...both came back empty handed...

LASTLY, called my friend in dallas to check for me...and the result was.........................................nothing...

so it seems that either most of the TX walmarts do not carry a line of DVD burners OR this deal may just be somebody's cruel idea of a joke...

and i'm guessing its the latter... :(
