<< *UPDATE*

Brooklyn Park, MN Wal-Mart shows 0 in stock, and the same goes with the rest of the local stores. Bummer...

(Did I hear a PM at Best Buy, though?) 🙂
>>

Did you have them check on the price???

they dont have any in stock at the lincoln, nebraska store.........and they didnt have any tdks at best buy here either.........good for nothing town

My Wal-Mart has nothing of the sorts. Shall we assume, though, that even if there are a few stores in this country that still have this drive AND it is still mismarked, that the flood of calls at 11:00 on a Sunday night to stores everywhere looking for a DVD burner will prompt them to take a look at their system?

hehe I just called a local Walmart (Dallas) and the guy said when I asked for a DVD drive:

Sir, did I just talk to you? I said no...he said somebody just called looking for a DVD drive a few minutes ago...we have nothing of that sort.

calling another one now... they said they didn't have any DVD drives for a computer at all...darn

i think everyone is saying "oh yeah they're out of stock at all the stores around xxxxxx, xx" so they can go snag them themselves 😉 😀

CROSSeyed - thats GOOD news.. bring the reciept in and they SHOULD pm.. like the best buy TDK deal... if you get one please tell us

Ok, LESSON 101>...... DON'T CALL MOTHER FLUSHERS!! You lazy bums....if you want the dvd-rw, go drive, like i did..... I came out empty eventhough i visited 3 stores: 2 in the state of Maryland, 1 in the state of Pennsylvainia... in a matter of 1:10min:03sec and counting- Average Speed /Hr- CLASSIFIED

Guys, seriously, you guys will kill the deal! Please learn from the other deals that we've lost due to the call volume and suspicion that retailers developed...BB Ti200 is one prime example not to mention the other thousands from staples, dell etc.....

Please DONOT CALL!!!

I went to one WalMart, no luck.
I called 2 more, they said # not even in the system.
I called another 2, they had no idea how to look up the #, cant get good help these days.

And yes, I too have called a store on a product and they said "dont have that" when I now that the
employees score the deal for themselves instead!

damn: my phone convos:

Store 1- Milpitas, CA

Me: hi, can i check if you have a product in stock?
WM: What category?
Me: Computers
They connect me
WM: Yes, what do you want to check?
Me: Oh, a Phil-
WM: PHilips dvd writer? sorry no.

Number 2, Mountain View:
Me: hi, can i check if you have a product in stock?
WM: What category?
Me: Computers
They connect me
WM: uh, can you call back in 15 minutes, no one is here. (probbably all running off to grab damn dvd writers :|

ppl still don't get it when we say DONOT CALL!!! DUMBASZES! This deal will be killed Tomorrow! THe only ppl in luck mst pbly is ATERS in Indiana...

HEHEHE.. people are looking for DVD-RW media.. YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE THE DRIVE YET!!.. worry bout that later.. I highly doubt anyone else being able to get this. I called my local walmart (Yea i know you guys say we shouldn't.. but i'm not driving 50 miles for nothing)..

i ask if they have a dvd-rw drive.. he says "we're out of stock".. i ask him what the price is he says "they run about 49 dollars".. then i'm like "Dvd-rw for 49?".. he's like.. hold on lemme get someone.. then he puts me on hold for 10 seconds comes back "we don't sell them"

They don't know what's going on.. only chance is to drive to a bunch of walmarts and if you're lucky enough to find it in stock.. and to find a manager nice enough (dumb enough) to pricematch it for you.

I work as a cashier at Wal-Mart so here's the PM policy:

You can PM with other stores only. Prices at Wal-Marts in different locations vary for the same product because they change prices constantly. The only prices that are guaranteed to be the same are advertised specials in ads. Wal-Mart will not pricematch their own stores and they will not pricematch reciepts. It has to be an advertisement. If you see this burner at your local Wal-Mart for $500, and ask to see the manager about a PM and show him the reciept, he'll probably just tell you to go f yourself... there is 0% chance of this working.

And that UPC is correct... real UPC's are 11 digits + 1 check digit, the 'actual' UPC for this product is 0 37849 91837. However it will show up anyways if you exclude the 0.

same feelings here! im getting up at 6 tomorrow to go run to my 2 nearest walmarts when they open at 7...keep in mind i have school at 740. if you really want a dvd burner for like 1/5 of the price, then jump in your car and go there! actaully walking in the store is the way that will give you the biggest chance of actaully getting a drive! ill post after school tomorrow...perhaps i will be the new owner of 'x' number of dvd-burners! 🙂

When i saw this deal posted i quickly ran to my walmart ( i live across the street from one) and they had the drive but the price was 349.99

i think it was just a pricing error, oh and i live in the northern, va area. Near springfield area =/

even at 299 and 349, they theres something definitly UP... best buy and circuit city sell these for 499... why would walmart sell them for 299??? seems strange..
