Possible "UH-OH"; married woman showing interest...I think

Sometimes, I hate being a guy. We are so souped-up with testosterone all the time that when an attractive woman blinks at us, we get all goo-goo.

There's a new woman that works with my company. (Building is huge...1800+ people) I've had some dealings with her over the past month, as she was the Point of Contact for a company-wide fundraiser, and I was the POC for my little area.

Well, whenever I see her in the halls, she's SOOOOOOO friendly. NOT touchy-feely at all, but real smiley and chatty. She makes it a point to strike up conversation and keep it going. She's not the "yappy-dizzy" type, you know, the kind that just rattles on and on and on? Genuine conversation.

Oh, and I find her very attractive. (No, no pics...how obvious would it be for me to whip out the digicam in the middle of hallway? Duh.)

The little issue is that she's married with two kids.

Maybe I'm reading into this, but usually when a woman shows "this much" interest in me, it's for a reason.

She doesn't talk much about her husband...or her kids...just kind of talks about this and that. She's new to this city, so we chat about places to go and things like that.

I know this is dangerous territory...and maybe I'm just hallucinating, but is she showing interest? She's extremely kissable...at least from what I've seen....damn hormones; where's the off-switch? 😀

She may indeed be flirting with you, but that doesn't mean she's wanting to have an affair. I say just keep it friendly until she accosts you 🙂

Uh, you know sometimes women are friendly because they want a friend. Especially if she just started working at a new place.

<< I say just keep it friendly until she accosts you >>

I can only hope. me\<---wants to be accosted (brutally) by this woman

Hey man,

here is some friendly free advice from a complete stranger on the internet 😉

many times that whole "men from mars and women from venus" thing holds some ring of truth. She may well just be being friendly to you in her mind, whilst you are interpreting this as something deeper.

Even if she means this friendly "flirting" as a green light or "come on'", do not get romantically involved. The pain and heartache to all involved (you, her, the husband, the kids) will NOT be worth it!

just my $.02 worth.

I bet that if you were to mention your intrepretation of her actions that she would be very surprised. Since you are obviously conflicted about this, I suggest that you just forget about any and all possibilities with this woman out side of a friendly business relationship.

Maybe she is just that friendly, who knows.

What the most important part is that you look at her as a friend or coworker, nothing more.

Indeed, she may just be extremely friendly. A girl friend of mine is extremely friendly to all, and I tell her that to a man such friendliness is often misconstrued. She's polite to men who flirt with her, and I tell her that only indicates to the man that she's interested. If a woman responds to a man's flirtations with any statement other than "LEAVE ME ALONE FREAK!", he'll be left with the perception that there's a space reserved for him in her bed. Not all men of course, but many.

go for it, I mean you always hear about married women having affairs. why can't that be you? speaking of that, I have this really hot married chick at my work too.

I have been in a situation like this before myself, and felt rather uncomfortable. (I am also married)
I just played it cool and I took the high road.
I know I wouldn't want to throw away 5 years of marriage for what could be!

D*#@ horomones, wish they didn't work sometimes...

Ahhhhhh, you guys are right. 🙁 I know you are, too. 🙁 She's just being friendly. But, but, but, but....she's PRETTY 😀 I'll leave it alone. Thanks for the input. 🙂

When she see's you the halls she makes it a point to be pleasant and converse with you.. lol, Dude you've got an excess
of spring hormone action going on.

Btw, I seldom discussed my home or family life at work ,it's called being professional, smart women down play family obligations if they wish to advance into positions requiring overtime or a lot of travel.

She's probably setting you up for a multimillion dollar sexual harrassment lawsuit.

With the way things are these days, as a man, you can't afford to so much as even flirt with fellow employees. It could cost you your livelihood.

I agree. 😀 They said it would stop when I hit thirty. Three years later and I'm still waiting for my hormones to calm down.

She's extremely professional, I have to admit that. And so am I. What I am thinking and how I act can be/are two completely different things. On the outside, I am the picture of professionalism. I keep my eyes at eye level, instead of the common-mistake chest-level (you ladies know what I'm talking about. 😀)

Oh well, at least she has a brain and is pleasant to chitchat with.

You should know better than to go after women at work. *cough*

Well, if you're married and she is also, you shouldn't. 🙂

<< Maybe she sells Amway or another MLM products, they are always very friendly. >>

OMG, tell me she's NOT gonna hit me up to buy a 19" Magnavox TV for $600! :Q OMG!!!!!! Noooooo! Aieeeeeeee! Noooo! :Q

I never thought of that! Now I'll have to avoid her like the plague.
