I've been using a KVM with my two PCs for years ( Linksys KVM2KIT ), but with a corded keyboard and mouse. I just got an MS 4000 wireless K/M combo, and wonder if there's any chance I can use it with both my PCs.

I figure the answer is No!

depends which kind of wireless keyboard mouse you have. for example, my logitech cordless laser desktop mx3000 has a base which has regular ps/2 connectors that will work with any kvm. your specific keyboard seems like it might work with ps/2. i'd say give it a try. what do you have to lose?

Um, by base I guess you mean the thing that plugs into your PC and that the K/M transmits to (using RF, I believe). The base I have (and again, this is an MS 4000) has a USB plug, period. I don't see how I can even try it. I mean, if I use a USB-->PS2 adapter and plug that into the KVM I figure it won't work. The KVM has input plugs for mouse and keyboard. Plugging the base into either of those couldn't work, right?

i see. it's just that when i googled your model, it said USB / PS/2. and yes that is what i meant. but hey, do you have any USB/PS/2 adaptors? they usually come with keyboards. it might work. and they cost like what?

i see here that they mention KVM switches.

Mmm... thanks. It's hard to know what might work and what might not. I'll have to read the reviews. I figure there's probably a way, but I'm not sure that there's a way using my current KVM.
