yup. delete c:\windows\win386.swp and c:\windows\win.com. you may wish to just rename them instead in case win98 still has issues. the install 98 as normal. there should be no data loss

I don't know which OEM CD you have but you should be able to upgrade to Win98 over Win95. Should be a no-brainer and all you have to do is answer a few questions the install program asks you. All your installed programs from Win95 should continue running as usual only better. Been a long time since I had Win95 but I upgraded over '95 to Win 98 with NO problems at all.

You should have 128 megs memory installed for Win98 to run at full speed. Should run OK with 64 megs memory.
