My girl has an old imac g3 someone gave us. Is there any way I can transfer the complete install to a new bigger drive? I don't have ant re-install disks for OSX so this is my only hope. I was hoping maybe I could use Norton Ghost or something similar and do the transfer in my pc. Anything like that possible?

It's easier just to reinstall. The OS X cds don't need a cd key to install. You can use any OS X disk.

Maybe, it's kind of a gray area. But yeah you'd have to get the same version.

You can find it the same places you can find Windows. :p But yeah those G3s didn't come with OS X, so no it didn't come with an OS X license. He would have to have bought it separately and should have the discs (assuming he actually bought it). Still, assuming he did and just lost the discs, you need to get the CDs instead of the DVD unless your G3 happened to come with a DVD drive. There are 4 cds for Tiger.
