Possible to run 2 nics in one machine

Is it possible to run 2 nics one static and one dynamic in one machine, is there software that does this or do you need a router.

Yes, thats what a lot of people do to share their internet connection. I have one NIC set to obtain automatically attached to my cable modem. And i have another NIC set to 192.168.0.1 attached to a hub goin to my lan. Sygate software has worked great for me for sharing my internet between the machines in my house. Hope this helps.
