Is there a BIOS hack that will allow me to overclock my old Intel 440LX chipset (on an Intel OEM reference motherboard) from 66 MHz to 100 MHz? If you can take the BX to 150, why can't the LX go to 100?

Any ideas appreciated

The 440LX was designed as a 66 MHz chipset. Generally most 440LX boards have unofficial support up to 83 MHz. During that time, there weren't many clock generators that have support other than 60/66/68/75/83 MHz. Since you have a Intel OEM board, you won't find a BIOS that will allow you to tweak your FSB. However, if your Clock Generator is not hard locked, you can use software like SoftFSB to tweak the FSB. I believe some models of the AL440LX have have software adjustable clock generators. You'll have to look for it (usually a chip near a small oval silver cap).

Found SoftFSB and the PLL-IC chip where you said to look and unfortunately it's not configurable by software so i'm sol.

Thanks again.
