Possible to get Divx codec for portable media center?

I need to know if it's possible to get the divx codec for portable media center devices. Anybody know? I'm searching for it on google, but can't come up with anything.
 
Not unless someone has made the effort to write replacement firmware for the exact Zen model you're interested in.

Portable devices don't usually run a generic OS with user-installable upgrades, they normally have a stripped-down custom build with a fixed set of features.
 
Alright, that's what I thought they were.

No luck on the codecs, all I see are ways/programs to convert FROM Divx to play on this device. (Which I'm assuming is probably all you found as well.)

I'm always up for a good google search tho! (I'm at work, so that's all the time you get.)

ACtually, they run a version of Windows Mobile, so it's not that custom. However, I personally, have no clue how you could modify the OS.

They took some version of Mobile / CE Platform Builder, selected the features they wanted, added custom drivers for their hardwaree, then compiled a custom OS build.

Yes it's a cousin of a Windows CE PDA, but from the MS and Creative descriptions it doesn't have the _user_ upgrading and software installing that a PDA offers. In theory you could use MS developer tools to build replacement firmware, but you'd probably need hardware drivers from Creative to make it work.
