Possible to get a virus threw a .doc

I haven't used an antivirus for like 2 years and i never got any viruses or spyware. Maybe it's because i'm behind a router.

Yeah well, my brother is behind a router and he manages to get viruses and trojans all the time despite of it. He is also running anti-virus software but if you install a trojan that is not on the "virus definition" list you are just SOL anyway. :laugh: He needs to stop clicking on porn pop-ups, lol.

That's such a stupid statement.

I did the same for about 4 years. Relied completely on trendmicro's online scan to check questionable files. I downloaded viruses here and there hiding in certain files; however, never installed any. About once every 6 months or so, I'd do a complete system scan with trend. Worked fine for me.

Yes, it doesn't matter what file extension or file you open; you can get a virus from any file or file type.
