Do Not create another account. That is a bannable offense. Thread lock, the request is being addressed in Moderator Discussions.

Not a big deal, but I would rather not have this as my username. I have considered creating a new account but if it could be changed, that would be a much more suitable option for me.

I don't think they do username changes. I put in a request to change from RedSquirrel to Red Squirrel back in 2009 and it has never been done. Not a HUGE deal but yeah, they probably wont do it.
 
Yes, sometimes user names will be changed by the Admins upon (reasonable) request.
