Possible to bind a key with the "Show Desktop" action?

Is there a way (possibly a program) that would would allow me to make a key on my keyboard to either show the desktop or possibly close a program (ALT+F4) With my intellimouse optical, I can bind the "show desktop" feature to a mouse button. Only problem is that in games, when I accidently press it, it takes me to the desktop.

Create a shortcut to the one from your quick launch bar and right click, select Properties and then set a shortcut key for it.

or you could just hit that funny little windows button and "d" at the same time

btw... try hitting windows + e (brings up explorer)
windows + r (run menu)
windows + f (find menu)

Which ISN'T the same thing as Show Desktop. Win+D is, however.
