long story short, friend of mine told me that they caught this kid working at his store trying to look up their bank account information on their computer. they had a guy come in and did something to the computer and it showed everything that the kid did...what website he went to, what time he did it...all kinds of info...does anybody know how to access such information and maybe teach me? thanks

You've got these funny things called "history files." Most browsers create them.

BTW, even if you delete files they aren't actually erased, the link is merely cut. I could tell you ways of fixing that, but I don't think that would be wise.

There's plenty of stuff you can do. Ask any data recovery place. The only way you can kill off your data for sure is probably to format the hard drive, hammer the platters into about 5 million pieces, run a powerful magnet over them and burn the hard drive in a hot fire. Even then.... :D

The kid was trying to lookup the store's bank account information or his own? If it's his own, that's a pretty stupid reason to fire him.

the kid was trying to look up my friend's store bank account. and as far as he knows, they dont have any monitoring software, they had some computer guy come in and did something and it showed everything that the kid has done. oh and he told me it was a DOS function...

Well I know Doskey had a Fkey that would show a list of all previous commands. Was the kid doing all this in DOS or Windows?

I doubt the kid was doing it in dos, most likely in windows. but it was just strange that a dos function would display all the previously visited websites and timestamps.
