Hello all,
A few days ago a friend of mine received an alert from NAV that a variant of the Sasser virus had been found, but in the activity log it showed access was denied and it could not be removed. It also was not listed in the quarantined list.
Soon after, the system begin to operate slowly when launching MS programs or other applications including My Document files/folders. Some programs would be blacked out when launched and take up to 2 minutes to fully load. Also, the screen saver (scrolling marquee) 'catches' randomly.
Are these symptons a sign of sasser or related virus?
Rescanned with Nortons and Nortons Sasser removal tools and manually but I could not find any traces of it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
