I would also just like to thank all the insensitive heartless people for trolling the thread. Yea it happens at colleges, and yea we think it is stupid to have done such a thing, but the kid is now dead-- at least you can respect him now instead of bashing him.

honestly i don't have any respect for someone who would kill themself.

..then AT LEAST have respect for us as a community that have to deal with the news media/police presence again. It brings back unpleasant memories.

Why is it that this even makes a post? Sure, it's sad somebody's family has to deal with their solution, but this isn't thread worthy. If we had a thread for every suicide the whole board would be filled with them. Sorry, but not a big deal.

Well originally we thought there was a larger problem here at Tech--which was the last thing we needed here. Additionally, Tech does not have a high suicide rate at all and it is rare when it happens here.

Suicide is low everywhere. I only saw 1-2 mentions anywhere where I went to school. Pressure is high though and people do break. It's not that newsworthy.

RIP x 2 (particularly for someone who suffered enough to feel so horrible that they ended their own life... it's easy to judge them when you're perfect, i guess)

I can't believe you have the audacity to accuse me of trying to draw more attention to this already emotionally strained campus and population.

I posted it to let people know, as I didn't know if this would be a big issue or not, that those who post here from VT were indeed safe and not the ones involved.

...sorry for drawing fire in your thread, kevin. that was most certainly not my intent...

and randay, there is a difference in "attention" from members of an online forum and "attention" from newscasters with cameras, looking at a body covered by a sheet when we have been through a lot here lately.

Enjoy. :p

Here's the movie on that very subject

Snopes is wrong, I know first hand it's true; a dean offered to give me straight A's if I killed myself.
