woot! I didn't know there was so many of you guys were from this city.

As for housing prices, my parents live west of san antonio a little bit (in the country side, about 15 minutes from san antonio, 5 minutes away from a lake), and they got a new, custom designed home on 5 acres for less than 250k. So 250k can buy a really nice house in the city or out in the country. The city is expanding north (as seen from the new nice mall being built on I-10 and 1604, the expansion of homes being built out here and stuff)

We have a lot of cool places for music, almost any band that's ever on tour comes either to san antonio or austin. I'm not sure about crime rates in the city though. I've lived in san antonio most of my life and I really do like this city. We have 2 cool amusement parks, schlitterbahn (one of the best water parks in the country) is a short drive away. The beach is a 2 hour drive and austin is a 1 hour drive away. There's multiple lakes within a short drive as well.

Thanks for all the good info. I think I?m going to do it. I?m sick of living poor in a townhouse might as well live nice. If I want night life it sounds like I can drive to Austin and have a fun time.

I'm in Austin. Let's hit up the bars on 6th Street sometime.

Are you out of youre F*in mind?? the only people that think San Antonio is ok are the locals who have been here all their life. This is w/o a doubt the worst living hell on earth. Move here if you never ever want to get laid again in your entire life. Austin ids okj, and its way better than s.a., but its still redneck.Do you know what HEAT is? well, a summer in San Antonio will broil youre friggin brains untill youre pretty much a zombie like every other San Antonian. Sure we have clean air and lees traffic, but who the hell wants to live here anyway. Me? i'm stuck here, thats all.Go to some texas border town where aty least you can go across the border and get laid every now and again. Texas mexican women are the pits! they absolutely suck and don5t put out- they are the scum of the earth

Yes, don't move to San Antonio because "jerryjg" is an idiot and can not get laid. Sounds like a good reason to avoid the city!

I am a Texas boy from DFW just recently transplanted to Pennsylvania (yuck) and San Antonio is a pretty fun area. For the social thing the only downside is that there really isn't one or two party spots like 6th Street in Austin. Rather the bars and clubs are just kinda scattered all over, which can be a good thing as well. San Antonio isn't my most favorite city in Texas, but you can do far far worse and if my job wanted me to relocate to San Antonio I would in a heartbeat.
