Lets hope so, although I have to quit buying games just because they are so cheap and never playing them. I would like to pick up Metro LL and maybe Crysis 3 or FC3 if they are in the 10 to 15 dollar range. Since I only play single player, I dont see them as worth much more than that for the few hours long campaign.

I also might be interested in Skyrim DLC if the price is right.

I have kept all my Steam reciepts. I had a look through one day and overall I realized that I actually have spent more money on Steam deals for games that I do not play than I ever did on full retail for my PS3 games alone which I played far more thoroughly. I mean it's 80 games on sale vs about 20 full retail but only maybe 10 of those Steam games I actually played and enjoyed. $2.95 here, $9.99 there, $14.95 here, games I would never buy priced otherwise or had they not been on time limit and they just sit there, many of them flat out suck like E.Y.E. or Guns of Icarus, give them a couple hours and it always felt like I wasted both time and money. I have 104 steam games total but about 80 were not worth the time it took to click add to cart.

Same here. And they make it all too easy and tempting to get you to part with your money and buy more games you'll never play haha.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one confused here. There aren't any games listed as far as I can tell. Only a letter claiming to be about a holiday sale that we all know Steam will do anyway.

Since around 2009 or 2010, the winter sale has not been anything special. I remember it being the last great sale because I bought a bunch of bundles for my kids and I.

Yea there are some good prices. But nothing more than what happens all year long.

I agree, it has turned into a roundup of the weekly and daily deals they run all year long.

Several years ago the id bundle would go on sale for something like $19.99, for 21 or 22 games.

Last year and the year before last the id bundle never got below $30 or $40.

The unreal bundle used to go on deep discount for something like $13. But I have not see it that low in 3 years?

I sold so many of the Summer Sale cards the instant I got them for $.80 each, and kept selling until they reached $.20. Then at the end of the sale, I bought the same cards for $.12 each and made my badge. Think I made about $20 overall, which isn't a huge amount, but that equated to like five to six free games for minimal time invested.

I did that too, but I doubt you will be able to do that next sale. I think the card market has pretty well stabilized. Next sale you will be lucky to make more then a couple of bucks.

Did you put them at the lowest possible price? That's what I've been doing and most sell within 24 hours or so. I couldn't care less about them, so as far as I'm concerned Valve has refunded me about $5.00 for no reason. I'll take that.

But yeah there are no notifications IIRC, your "steam wallet" simply increases by the amount the card sold for.

As for the dates, there's endless speculation surrounding every steam sale, and it's almost always wrong. It'll be sometime around Christmas, that's good enough for me. It's not like I have to be there first or they'll run out of stock or something.

Yeah I agree. I was expecting a list of the games and prices. Everyone already knows there is going to be a sale on these holidays like they do every year. I wish we could see the actual games. It's like making a thread telling us that Halloween is going to be on the 31st next year :biggrin:

Contrary to the thread crappers, did it occur to you that some people might actually like to know the exact dates which are not always the same every year? And find the alleged leaked email interesting to read? If you don't then why even bother to take time out of your busy day to whine about it?
