Possible hot deal, Duron 700 & Motherboard EDIT: NOT HOT, PRICE IS NOW $155, IT WAS A TYPO.

I was checkin out pricewatch looking for a cheap video card and I saw this. Duron 700 & Motherboard for $55. The site doesn't look very good and they don't say what motherboard it is. Anyone want to try there luck on this one? That is a damn good deal if it works.

Seriously, I got a hard drive from them once.
They tried to overcharge me, but I printed their quoted price at pricewatch, Hah!
Oh sure, it was only $3-$4, but it's the principle they even tried doing it!
Delivery was tolerable, so really not that bad...just watch your totals, eh?

At this price I can GUARENTEE you the motherboard it comes with will not have multiplier adjustments. You'd be lucky to get any FSB adjustments but that's only going to get you about a 10% clock increase.

A 3.1 is not that bad considering that there are an infinite number of negative numbers. So, beings the 3.1 is positive, that's something, I guess. If you limit your consideration to positive numbers between the range of 0 and 7, then their ratings are not so good. I really try to avoid companies that have less than a 5.0 at resellerratings but for a REALLY good deal, I will lower my standard to a 4.0 minimum and hope things work out. This does not stike me as a REALLY good deal, or even a decent one.

Seriously, without knowing the motherboard mfr. and model, this is a really questionable deal.

Prior to my post, the price was $55. I posted my comments here and noted that new post prior to mine mentioned the price had changed to $155. Now, this deal is just plain stupid.

3.1 for reseller ratings is extremely bad, don't kid yourself, and Yahoo stores don't have a good rep either. Losing money is worse than overpaying a bit.
