Found this deal, but I'm not too sure if it would be called a "Hot deal" so posted for others to review. Here's the thing the computer is all black and looks very nice (See it yourself hereHERE) The computer specs are:

266 MHz
64MB Ram
4MB EEPROM
24x CD-ROM Drive
56K Modem
10/100 base T Ethernet
2 USB Ports
Keyboard
Mouse
Speakers

Runs on Linux (I think)

There appears to be no catch to this computer except for maybe banners, but I'm not too sure. Well, let me know what you think guys. Thanks! :)

It's $330 with a monitor -- getting very close to low-end eMachines prices, and eMachines at least have "real" processors.

Still, I admit, the thing looks nice, and there are some nice extras (the ethernet card, for instance). Doesn't look like it can be expanded at all though.

Okay, yeah true, but the thing does look nice which was why I even considered getting one for one of my computer-illiterate relatives or friends. :) At least when people first see it, it'll be "Ohhh..Ahhh!" :)

Actually that thing looks pretty sweet. I wonder if you could replace the CD-Rom with a hard drive. Hmmmmmm. I'd do it, but my play $ for the month is well exhausted already.

There's no info about the HD or the processor (could be a winchip or cyrix, right?). Has anyone seen one of these things?

Hmm...some Benwin Flat Speakers would look nice with these too! :) By the way, anyone know how good those Benwin speakers are? They are currently $29.95 shipped at Outpost.com. I'm thinking about getting them....the speakers that is. :)

wjones: Hey, sorry, I didn't know you already posted it. I did the mandatory search for previous posts to avoid any mishaps. Sorry, didn't know about your thread though. :)

junthin,
I hacked 3 iopeners and they don't look as tough as this.

I'll wait for someone more experienced to hack it before I go for it.

sounds interesting.. since it does have a cdrom.. maybe there might be space to put a harddrive.
It will require a bios.. so there got to be a way for it to boot to an hdd.

umm.. interesting.

It is a nice looking computer, but can anyone figure out how to hack it? Or does anyone actually own one of these things? Let me know, thanks! :)
