I think they can tell who left the testimonial. They have to approve them I think. I would also include my order # when you email customer, not the testamonial. something like I was so happy with me order-blah blah that i ordered again, the new order is xxxxxx (hint hint)and just wanted to say thanks.

<< What the heck, people are getting 800MHz Intel Itanium 64bit Processors with 4MB cache!!?!?!?!?!?! If so,I'd better get something from them, I order from newegg like once every month, but I haven't ordered anything recently. Perhaps I should? >>

Hey did you know gullible isn't even in the dictionary? seriously... try looking it up 🙂

I sent them a "happy" e-mail. Dang that 430W Antec case looks good. I'm getting the "blue cc" dreams again. Sell the comp. I just built, and... and.... "North" to 2.4 gig, hint, hint. It's "Crucial" that I resist.... [vision is bluring...]

Not really that much of a hot deal, I mean its just a shirt & pen according to a prev poster.

And to Marlin: You may have missed a 0, Nader almost got that many votes

I just remember...I did send them an email, but it wasn't praise. I told them their website had something listed wrong in the description. Surely, they wouldnt' send me a gift for that....you think?

I may be mistaken but I think he's talking about how Gore got 50,000 more votes than Bush. Not 50,000 overall.

I don't think you get a gift unless you email customer support and tell them how great they are or how great they think they are

Yeah but, what about me?? I started that whole thing to cause that. 😀😀 LOL

I didn't get a free gift, but...

I received something better. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from them Sunday night. I decided to have the items shipped FedEx 2nd day to ensure delivery by Friday (tomorrow). When I checked their site Wednesday afternoon, the items were listed as not having shipped. I called customer service and was told that the items would arrive by Friday.

Well...when the site was updated at 6pm PST, I was shocked! One of the three packages had already arrived. The other two had been upgraded to FedEx Priority Overnight. The other packages arrived at 10:15am this morning (a day early!!).

Way to go Newegg!!!!!!

I would think legally that newegg would have to put a disclaimer on their testimonials page stating that users who posted comments have been paid by newegg.

I'm sure they will have many now posting fake praise messages.

I know that buy.com when they first started out sent gifts to their customers, just for having purchased from them. No butt kissing was involved.

I order a Geforce GTS-v and it was dead, I had to RMA it and had to pay for shipping too. ARghhh! Those that did RMA, did you have to pay for shipping like me? They gave me a dead card, not my fault, its theirs, why should I pay?:|
My card was also poorly packaged. I was bouncing around in the Fedex box.

I don't think they're that good like people think. Last time I ordered was for a CD MP3 player and it was used, had scratches and all. I was able to RMA it luckily.

Sure Rave about them now. but when you've got problems from them like I have be wary of them just like anyother place.

who wants to bet newegg sets their profit margins on the business that they get from Anandtech...... as of me thinking, they should have a discount(not a big one, but about 1-5%) for those that have ordered extensivley..... or order in large quantities..

The day that NEWEGG goes public or it is bought out or merges with, another company is the day this forum becomes hilarious! i could just imagine every post having some type of sailor language in it....

if the other stores also learned from newegg, and lowered their shipping prices (i wonder how many of those stores' AszHOs lurk around here trying to find customers and promote their business!) maybe they could get our businesses too... till then, they will still live in the dark, no how about this, they will live to milk the people that are in the dark( and i was one of them at some time)

I just bought about half a PC from them, and didn't get nothing (AFA free gift is concerned)... 🙁
I have a feeling that newegg is going to end up like all other online resellers I've seen - either grow big, start having less and less profit margin(or higher and higher prices or both), and become another buy.com, or try to cut some corners and kill itself even earlier.
