How do you disable someone who is in the same network as you from accessing your computer?

I'll assume you're running windows.

Don't share anything.

If you must, just don't allow guest logins.

yes i am running windows. So what do i have to do now? where do i go?

Right click "My Network Places"
Properties
Right click "Local Area Connection"
Properties
Select "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks"
Uninstall

I think that is all you should have to do.
