OK.. this is my first deal, I hope it works out for some of you.

I was in Compusa today looking in the sound card section, and happened to look at the NEWQ Platinums (External)

they are $79, and most of them had a rebate sticker for $20, but one had a $50 rebate sticker, I looked and it seemed the rebate was open ended, there was no date on it.

OK so like I said, this is a "MAYBE" deal, when you're there checking out the Aniversary deals, don't forget to look at the NEWQ, you might find one w/ the $50 rebate.

I wanna hook this up to my comp, which has a live! 5.1, and the newQ thingy says it provides virtual 6 surround sound. Should I hook it up??? Is there anyone else that uses this thing, and has another sound card, audigy or some'n???

I've been looking into it, I wanted one for my living room comp. so it could double as a stereo w/ remote, so far I can't tell if I would get degraded sound from my Sata Cruz or not....
Does any one else know?

 
I bought one a back in jan. (when it was first announced) and I still haven't received the MIR. I am kind of worried because there was no phone number listed, nor was there an ending date on this rebate.

I thought I had my first HD!
I picked up a newQ-Platinum today with a $20 rebate. When I peeled off the rebate sticker (with a razor) to fill it out... What a surprize!!!
There was a $50 rebate form under it! No time limit. So I figured I'd send in the $50.

I just hate having to send the ORIGINAL sales receipt though. But $30 ain't bad for a new toy 🙂
 
The rebate is from NeoWave themself. I live about 30 min's from their company <not while I'm in school though>. Their # is listed on their website, but I dunno if they'd have any info on your rebate status.

still.. i like mine.. just wish that it didnt lower the sound on my klipschs... makes the sound really little..
 
I didn't got my rebate too from the last deal
and this thing is worthless. it actualy decreases quality of the sound. Only one good thing - fm radio with remote 🙂
 
I did not get my rebate yet either. 🙁 Buyers beware!! Currently this POS is sitting on top of my computer. I did not even use it at all. would not recommend it ....

I'll second that, still waiting on my $50 from back in January. As for the usefullness of it, you'll find as many opinions as there are owners. Personally, I broke mine open and installed into 5.25" bay and it looks cool 🙂

anyone get there rebate yet? its been a while, i dont wanna give up 50$ this thing aint even worth the price we paid.

I sent them an email just yesterday, haven't heard back. I'm gonna send 'em an email everyday from here on out till I get it. :disgust:
 
I emailed them about 2 weeks ago, got a reply within two days saying that it had already been processed. I recieved my rebate a few days after that. Great service 🙂
