Stopped in one of the local BestBuy stores yesterday evening to pick up one of the Print Servers. Wandered around the Computer Area checking things out, noticed a hand written sign under one of the Maxtor drives. Bought a Maxtor 20 Gig HD, 5400rpm/ATA100, Kit # K0192000U, for $109 with $50 MIR. I think this is the same drive we were picking up from Staples last week. As far as I know, this is not an advertised special - the price on the web site today is $109 w/ no rebate listed. I don't know if this was just that one store or if it was a Pres. day sale price match w/ someone else (altho if it was, I sure didn't see it!) or what, but I got one at that price (limit one / rebate) Monday, 2/19. If you can find one of these HD's, I think this also qualifies for the $50 rebate on the combined HD/ATA card rebate.

Any details on the rebate? I'm wondering if I can do this rebate AND the Staples one? Do you have an address for the rebate?

Thanks.

I already picked up the Staples deal last week - used the $30 coupon. This one was in addition to it. I'll check the rebate, but it printed out when the receipt came out so I don't think you can use both of them. Usually both stores require actual UPC codes. don't they?

"staples has been offering this for like the past 5 days... 49.99 after MIR "

I didn't see any sign that there was a $50 MIR at Staple's web site. Moreover, they were out of stock (at least in the Bay Area). I tried to pounce on the $79.99 Maxtor 20 gig with the $20 MIR Sunday, but my wife borrowed my car when I was sleeping off a late night of card play and by the time I got to the local Staples they were all gone.

Anyone know of any comparable deals elsewhere?

I have picked up both ones...at Staples and BB. Staples rebate of course goes to Coppell, TX. BB rebate goes to Young America, MN....so I feel pretty confident with that one.

Does anyone know if the $50 rebate does apply to the kit from BestBuy? What is the $20 MIR?

Has anyone else gotten this deal? My Best Buy didn't have the 20 gig drive at all, only 30, 40 & 60. I wanted to see if it's worth going to another one tomorrow...

Hey, 2 20 gig drives for $59 each is almost as good of a deal as one for $23! Oh, wait a minute...maybe not!

Already did the Staples deal, would like to try BB as well.

BB Web Site shows it available at my local store, but no mention of the rebate. Can anyone help with this?

Hmmm - perhaps this can be purchased at BB, get the rebate print out, then get them to PM Staples: $109 - $40PM - $50 MIR= $19!!!

My local BestBuy's were out of stock so I tried to place an order online. I talked to a CSR to see if the rebate was good on an online order. She said no. When I pressed her about it (cmon it's the same store) she stated that b&m rebates do not apply to online orders. I guess I'll just have to drive a few miles to get this deal.

I am waiting for a long list of Staples rebates from Coppell TX . My local Best Buy is out. Any other $50+- comparable (preferable instant or no rebate HD deals out there)? Thanks

I did some footwork and finally found a BestBuy with a lot of these drives in stock. There was no indication on the shelf that these drives had a $50 rebate (probably why they had so many left) but the rebate came up when I rang it up. Not as good as the Staples deal but a 20gig drive for $68 after tax is pretty good.
