im not trying to sound like jerboy, so dont make a list for me.

Stop slamming on me.

what are the possibilities of a monitor randomly exploding? i mean isnt it possible for a person to combust for no reason? the chances are something like 1 in a trillion billions, but the chance is there, right?

this is stupid, i know, but what could happen that would make it do that?

hmmm...

I'd be surprised if anyone has done a study on this and came up with credible statistic on it.

Your monitor can implode. When an implosion occurs, the parts from the back comes shooting out of front after it crosses the middle. If you seal your room tightly and compress the whole room to 10atm while you sit in front of it, there is a very high chance that monitor will shoot glass at you. Wait, you'll probably die of over pressure first.

MrDudeMan, he was simply making an observation on how much pressure would be required to make the monitor implode. Would you prefer he measure the preasure in a unit other than atmospheres?

I mean, it's mind-boggling how pathetically stupid you are. He ANSWERED your question, despite you insulting him needlessly, and you... insult him some more?

How else do you want me to say it, you got some problems MrDudeMan? You have no correlating your dumb post to my name. It's not my fault that your question sucks. Don't ask stupid pointless questions if you're not ready to see realistic answers. :disgust:

no joke but the monitor on my old 386 exploded!

I was just in some computer game or something and then came this realy realy realy loud BANG from the monitor and it went dead. Not sure what failed but it was fixed few days later

I think that was an electrolytic capacitor. They can rupture when they fail.

Trillion billion is 10^21. There aren't that many monitord in the world

:sigh: There is a possibility for almost everything.

There is a possibility in meteorite hitting a truck carrying live stock in front of you, pierce through a cow, bounce off and hit your windshield and you break your neck from pieces of cow carcass flying at high velocity.

hmmm...

low chance: improper handling of CRT.

high chance: pressurizing the whole monitor. Since it is sealed, when you continuously increase air pressure from outside, it will eventually overtake the strength of glass and air trying to suddenly occupy that space will send glass shrapnels everywhere. This is the realistic answer you're not satisfied with.

It didn't explode but a flyback x-former in a Sony ProFeel monitor caught fire that I once owned. Stunk/smoked the house out.

Yeah, I've posted it before, and it's even more applicable. What is the probability that a monitor will randomly explode when you toss it off a third floor balcony?

You must have been a ballot counter down in Floriduh

Not Florida, West Palm. You know the place where when they can't log on to their AOL dial up for a couple hours(this is becuase the phone lines there are sh!t) they lose thousands of dollars because they can't do any day trading.
