possable deal on ddr 2700

That's a good deal? Well, kinda, but I'm sure you could get a little better..

I managed to get the same thing back in September for $75, from PCClub. There was a local computer show going on and they matched the lowest price there. Then, as an added bonus, they kept the price until the end of the month, just to rub it in to the other places


Good find though!

Sounds like the ram at cnetpc is true samsung, it says it comes with a lifetime MFR warranty, the googlegear ram only comes with a 1 year warranty, I don't think the googlegear ram is samsung on samsung.

bump for continuing the dialogue...opinions seem to vary widely on what constitutes "True" or "Original" Samsun memory...this one our friend alerts us to is a good price...but could it be overclocked from PC2100? There seems to be a lot of that going on. How can we tell in our ongoing battle for truth, justice and the American save a buck anywhere you can Way?

that answers the overclocking question...and with the lifetime warranty, it's gotta be good OEM stuff, right?

I've been hunting around a lot, this looks about as good as it's going to get for awhile...and the shipping is cheap, $1.54 flat rate, 3-4 days to ship, but if you're not in a hurry, doesn't sound bad atall. Thanks qck, I'd overlooked this one in the glut of stuff on Pricewatch.



They've got a couple others too, like this: 512MB DDR 266MHZ (ECC REGISTERED) MAJOR BRAND LIFETIME WARRANTY. for $146 and change...is ECC Reg worth the extra bucks?

I can't speak to the quality of this ram, but I did e-mail them and got a response that it was Samsung chips on third-party board. Thanks.

I bought some of the Googlegear stuff about 3 weeks ago(when it peaked at $150). It was Samsung on Samsung PCB.

For people that dont know yet. This is what true samsung means,

True = Samsung chips on original samsung PCB.

Anything else is just samsung chips on a 3rd part PCB. The 3rd PCBs are not up to the same level of quality as the samsung ones. THis only matters though if you plan to overclock this stuff. IF you dont overclock your ram then it doesnt matter if you get true samsung or not as both will run just fine at DDR 333.

change the second letter of the first word to "a"
if googlegear.com's deal is a real Samsung that costs less after shipping.
