This POS phone is a Sony Ericsson T616 of 2 years old. For awhile now this thing keeps causing interference with my car stereo and my home and work PC. Basically if I have the phone in the vacinity of any of the equipment I just mentioned, I get this loud noise like Morse code. The phone doesn't have to be in use to cause this, just turned on and placed nearby (2-3ft). It's even worst inside the car because that morse code noise is proportional to the volume so the louder I have my music, the louder the damn noise is. It's not the radio receiving the interference because it still happens when I'm listening to CDs. I practically have to turned off the stereo when I have to take a call.

Can't get a new one yet as I just blew a few hundred $$$ in Vegas and I just had to get me the 24" Dell wide flat screen. I'm in love with it.

Welcome to the world of cellular technology and crappy FCC regulatory standards. Motorollas are also notorius offenders, while Nokia seems to have figured out how to avoid this... i think its funny, because i always know when someone is about to call.. nananananananana...

Goddamnit! and I was going to get a Motorolla Razr V3 too. I know Nokias are known for good reception but to me they're hideous.

My old Nokia used to cause interference in my computer speakers whenever it was in use. My Motorola T720 doesn't cause any at all.

Actualy All cell phones do this when they "sync" with the closest tower. My Nokia 6010 does it all the time. Just keep it farther away from the speakers/radio and you should have no problems

Some phones are worse offenders than others, also it may have something to do with your provider... GSM, PSC, CDM. My Motorolla V551 is LOUD on the pops, so is my dad's Motorolla V600. We're on Cingular which is GSM. Here in France I hear the pops on campus when my phone isn't with me, so I assume its someone elses (Europe is standardized on GSM). Also you could try buying better shielded cables for your equipment... although i think the FCC passing better frequency standards, or doing something to stop the rampant spread of the cellular band would be far more effective.
