Ports (COM & LPT)

hi everyone, I was trying to connect a Vinyl Plotter to my desktop system when I noticed that under device manager, I'm not seeing a (+) for "Ports (COM & LPT ). Now my compaq armada e500 laptop has it and I got the cutter to work with that. I was wondering they aren't available on my desktop system. Can some please help. Much thanks.

I'm running WinXP Pro
Biostar Motherboard
1 Gig DDR RAM
Intel Celeron 2.4Ghz
XFX 128MB DDR GPU

They are likely disabled in the bios. Go into the bios setup and look under "integrated peripherals".
