Portal 2 System Reqs

I bought Portal 2 recently when it was ~$10. I max out the settings on my i5 PC and it is still buttery smooth.

However when I fly home for xmas I'm hoping to try it on my parents' PC that I built for them about 1-2 years ago. It was mostly made from random parts so it's not cutting edge by a long shot. How well will it run at 1280x1024?

System is a C2D E7300, 2GB DDR2, and a 512MB Radeon 3450 (@600/1000) with W7 x64. I have a feeling the GPU is going to make things painfully slow.

You'll have to turn settings down a lot. I'm not sure it will work well at 1280x1024, might have to turn it to 1024x768 or even 800x600. Still, Portal 2 isn't all that taxing on a system, so you should be able to get it to work eventually.

Just as troubling as the 3450 is the fact that you only have 2 GB of RAM. A Windows 7 computer should have at least 3 GB if you're going to try games on it.

I ended up buying a low profile 6570 and 4GB of memory that I'll install when I get home. I imagine that should hold them for awhile. I hate having things barely run even if it does.
