Portal 2 for Mac... where are the Steam system folders?

Trying to install some custom maps for Portal 2, but I'm not seeing the Steam system folders anywhere. All the guides say look for a Library folder in your user folder, but there's nothing there other than Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc. There is a Library folder at the root directory, but there's no Steam folders within (nor within the Application Support folder). They have to be somewhere, but where?

The user Library is hidden by default in Lion. You can easily access it from the Go menu in Finder. Just click on Go and hold down the option key. A menu option for Library should appear. The Steam folder can be found inside the Application Support folder inside the user Library folder.
