the sony doesnt have so much in POI's ..

What do you mean specifically? Is it missing some POI's that you need? Straight out of the box, it's loaded with POIs. I haven't bothered installing the installation CD on my notebook to see about adding more, but by default it's fully loaded with POIs

Consider:

Sony NV-U70 has 1.6 million POIs

Garmin c330 has 6.0 million POIs

Obviously more the better especially if you are traveling around more rural areas.

damn i like the garmin C340 but i can get the SONY NAV-U NVU70 for 300.. .. NFS4 does the sony unit tell you which road to turn at (like turn left on main street) cause if it does i am buying it.. the POI's are not much of an issue to me. Though 1.6 million POI's vs 6million POI is a big difference.. as long as it has the basic stuff i am good to go.

Sorry dude, no text to speech 🙁 At least the voice is sexy 😀

I have TOM TOM 5 on my Ipaq and if I'm honest it's better than my BMW Nav... The GF uses it now.

Get a stand alone TOM TOM unit. The software is great.

PS: I have Speed camera POI's with audio warning, Gas stations with soft audio warning and it Moo's when there is a McD's nearby, more for a laugh than any other reason...!

Anyone else with a Nuvi? Where is the best B&M place to go check some units out? Costco.com has the Nuvi 350 for $650, which is kinda high but then you get the amazing return policy. They have the Magellan 3050T in stores, but it looks pretty craptastic.
