Portable for Data Analysis

I would like a small, portable computer that would be able to perform the tasks that I require for my job.

I work with large amounts of financial data in Microsoft Access & Microsoft Excel. I also spend a lot of time writing and testing in VBA.

Would a netbook have enough power for me to perform the function of my job? If not, are there any small alternatives that you would suggest? What should I look for when buying one... the speed of the processor? Are there any processers (even if they are obscure) more apt for data analysis? Are there any motherboard chipsets designed entirely for data analysis?

Eventually, I would like to be able to stream raw exchange data in the background. Would I need a processor with multiple cores to be able to do this?

Thank you,
Zacharry

A netbook will support your basic needs. Not sure about the data exchanging. But with a netbook it all comes down to comfort. May not be the best solution if your doing allot of typing.
