Port forwarding problem - Internet DIES if left alone for hours

I just got a new Lynksys router which prevents me from using torrents so I forwarded ports to my IP. It works to an extent. My download speeds will go up to like 150k, then down to 10k, then back up, over and over. So I thought it would be fine so I left it alone. EVERYTIME I come back, my internet just dies, and you see that little icon in your taskbar with the two black screens and the yellow exclamation mark. This is BS. Should I return this router?

Sounds like your upload speed is killing your download speed. Let me ask you this, does it happen if you dont use bittorrent? For example, if you ssh into something and just let it sit for a few hours, or ping something for a few hours? If it only happens with bittorrent, try limiting your upload speed and see if it still happens. If you upload speed maxs out your pipe you wont be able to request new packets and your connection will die.
