What does port 162 do exactly? I know it refred as SNMPtrap, but what does it do? Looking at my Linksys router's log, I keep noticing it from a fellow DSL user. Report to my ISP?

you're receiving traps?

then this guy has his stuff logging to the wrong address! don't worry about it.

<edit> run a packet capture on the trap to figure out his SNMP community strings...then play all you want with his stuff.
 
Good idea! Just what we need. More hax0rz to make me do more work. Politely let him know that his machine is sending out crappy packets.
/me checks his machine for similar problems...
