looks nice, but it's yet another Porsche that at just a glance looks just like all the others. Not complaining though; it's purdy 🙂
my thoughts exactly. The rear quarter appears slightly different (like an RX-8) but only if you care to look harder.

Do you folks get the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo in the US?

I want 😉

Unfortunately, yes

whats not too like, devastatingly quick and you can take it off road to a suprisingly reasonable extent...ideal for me (apart from the inevitable servicing/parts/needs 98 RON problem that would srtike living 500kms away from th nearest Porche garage) 😉

Yeah it's fast...for a 5700 pound SUV. And it's ugly to boot...but if the profits from that enable them to offer things like the Cayman, then I'm all for it...

😉 the styling is a little brutal, but i'll take that for the sort of speed/handling you get , as well as i can actually take it on the beach/into the national parks on the gravel in the rain...🙂

It's a blasphemy.
But as someone said, if Porsche needs it to make money to make real cars... whatever.
I still snicker every time that I see one on the road though.

cayman will replace boxster....code name 98x something. the new 911 is under 997. I don't really get why they have to make the cayman faster than a carrera s, THAT'S NOT RIGHT!

I heard the 911 will get a turbo V8 in the near future. Is this true?

The Cayenne already has a turbo v8.

I doubt they'd ever do that to the 911 though. The balance just wouldn't be there.

You know, anyone who has driven a pre 1990's 911 is going to be alughing uncontrollably at the idea of the 911 having "balance".

The 911 is an absolutely brutal car. Amazingly fast in the hands of a supreme driver, and amazingly deadly to the rest of us unless we keep it dialed down to 7/10ths or less.

It doesn't have to replace the Boxster as it's decidedly upmarket of it...and also different enough that the two shouldn't necessarily steal sales from each other

Those last three tenths are a bitch.

<--- Oversteer whipped me into a phone pole at 80mph when I let off the gas.

Can someone explain to me the point of this car?

Is this replacing anything or are they just trying to cannabilize sales of one of their other models? 😕

Anand told me Porsche is testing the waters to see if the Cayman can eventually replace the 911...

I find that awfully hard to believe. I know Porsche was going to replace the 911 with the 928 but of course that never happened. I have a feeling Porsche will drop the 911 right after Chevy drops the Corvette.
