I agree, but then again if you are going to be paying the amount of money required to purchase a porsche, then you would expect the car not to be underpowered.

Slow-ass car for the money. S2000 is a better buy. If it ever comes to racing, you might be embarrased.
Remember, padding the bra is not always a good thing. Especially if you hang with men that like to squeeze.

Folks, you can get a nice used Boxster for as low as ~$20k in some areas with little mileage and an S for as little as ~$25k with low mileage. My friend's currently looking for a used one right now because they've dropped in the used market SO much. (more than the S2k) Though lately, there are fewer on the market right now.
A used 911 couldn't be the current gens because they still retain a lot of their value. If you do plan to do motorsports with it, it's a great car in terms of balance and handling... the S does add some needed punch but similar to the S2k, it's NOT going to be a drag race car.
If you find a used Boxster for $20-25K, it's almost certainly going to be a '97... essentially a seven-year old car. I don't think losing around half the value in seven years should be considered "poor resale".Originally posted by: bozack

Hey Kosmo, I never knew the resale on them was that poor?? damn makes me want to start looking for one....also vette nice choice with the Audi TT, that is by far one of my favorite cars for looks and interior ergonomics, haven't driven one yet but I have heard they are nice and the free 50K mile service is a bonus as well.
I agree I would also take a vette over the Porsche but one has to admit they are very different types of cars, IMHO the Porsche even though it is slower it is more refined than the vette.
I really like the Z3/4 as well and I hear used they are quite a bargain (well the 3 as I don't think there are any used 4s out yet).
