Porsche and VW to merge.

They have already been merged. The Toureg and Cayene share the same frame?

Sharing the same frame does not necessarily mean they merged.

Also, that body is used in the Audi Q7 as well.

Considering that VW, Porsche, and Audi have all been run by members of the same family since the 1950's, I think it's safe to say that this "merger" is effectively nothing more than a formalization of what already exists.

I read this article on several sites and not one mentioned which brands make up the 10...
Seems kind of odd that every single article points the number out but not the details.

Here they are for interest sake:
1) VW
2) Porsche
3) Audi
4) Lamborghini
5) Bentley
6) Bugatti
7) Skoda
8) Seat
9) Man
10) Scania

I only know the first 6, and I really only barely recall a coworker talking about the sixth.

Skoda is Czech auto company. You can't buy any of the last 4 in the US.

I've never heard of the last 3.

Scania is also a huge commercial truck maker. ...along with fire trucks, ambulances, and buses.

SEATs were/are sold in Mexico. I have seen a few on the streets here with Baja plates on them.
