You asked about being addicted to naked pictures and we're childish?

I have some advice for him.

If it's destructive... Be a man and quit doing it. It's not an "addiction", it's just poor behavior. People call things like this an "addiction", as to not claim responsibility. As if their destructive behavior is not their fault... As if it's not their choice.

Tell him to quit being a schmuck and choose to live a better life. He chooses to turn on the pc and visit the adult links. He chooses to allow it to be destructive, and yet he chooses to repeat said behavior even though it's not healthy.

All he has to do is make better choices. It's really not that complicated.

well, that's like saying you're addicted to breathing. unless you'd rather look at porn then at real women, imo you don't have a problem.

however, the internet never ceases to amaze.

If he thinks he has a problem with it, and thinks that it's an addiction (which I do know people that do in fact have an addiction to porn) then treat it like an addiction. Get it out of his life. Kill all the porn he has, find ways to block it from his life, and find other things to do with his time. It's easier said then done, but I know people that have done it. They've blocked sites, destroyed all their porn, and have moved on from it...

DELETE IT ALL OFF YOUR COMPUTER! Or, if you have to, use only newspaper lingerie ads! That'll teach ya...

I would maybe suggest geting this person Diablo II. But that's just replacing one addiction for another. My wife wishes that game was never made. Maybe I should switch to pron, free up some time....

Corporate... I have a great sense of humor and some of the responses have been pretty funny but I was, naively, looking for more serious responses right now. BTW pornography addiction is a LOT more than looking at naked pictures.

Like what?

I spent some time working as a counselor on an addictions unit.I guess to offer any sort of advice I'd have to ask you to give us some more info.A generic piece of advice is to take the checklist used by AA and NA and have your friend substitute the words alcohol or drugs with " porn" those checklists can be helpful in deciding if one has an addiction.

Fitzm, are you working on a school paper or something? What's the topic?

I had this problem once, here's how I stopped it.

1) throw away all physical evidence of porn
2) get a proxy program, like proxymitron, if you try to go to a porno site (that you specify) then it'll redirect you to another site.
3) ask someone for help, or just call them up and chat whenever you feel like it's got you under control.

It worked for me, hopefully it'll help you. Good luck!
