Not to belittle what I'm sure will be a huge high-def porn market, but how many people have actually thought about what extremely high definition porn will look like? There is a reason porn is normally shot in soft focus, there are just some things you don't want to see in extreme detail on your widescreen TV. 😉
FYI: porn is not soft focus. I'm not sure what porn you're watching to give you that idea. I know this because of...um...research.

Perhaps that wasn't the right term, it's not really my area of expertise.

Hey Schadenfroh and other libs who think this is GWB's fault, you need to read up on your recent history. Clinton did much more in terms of porn legislation than GWB did. Stop generalizing, it makes you look foolish.

That said, I'm a Repub and this is just another reason I won't be getting a PS3.

Hello all,

Porn is already available on Blu-ray Disc.
I have posted an article about it on my site.
http://wesleytech.com/porn-is-already-on-blu-ray-disc/

Different markets, different rules?

Yep, Japan / US markets are very different, but the point is that porn does exist on Blu-ray somewhere at least. No one even knows for sure if Sony is trying to block porn. And even if they are trying to block it, if they can't control it in their own "home" market, can they control it elsewhere? I think we will see Blu-ray Disc porn appear in the US at some point...

Has Sony gone mad? Prominent adult movie producer Digital Playground (site) says it is forced to use HD DVD instead of Blu-ray, because Sony does not allow XXX-rated movies to be released on Blu-ray.

It does not matter how you stand to porn. It is here and it is a massive business. It is also an industry that is an early adopter for new media technology. VHS might not have won with out the adult film industry adopting it.

German Heise has interviewed Joone the founder of Digital Playgrounds at the AVN 2007 show in Las Vegas. Joone says actually said last year he is committed to Blu-ray. Now they announced four HD DVD titles in the United States. In the interview Joone says he was forced to use HD DVD, because no Blu-ray disc manufacturer would make his discs, because Sony was against it and they would loose their license.

If this holds true, Blu-ray is at a major disadvantage and could fail.

George Bush, Dick Cheney and all Republicans, thank you for instilling this morality in the mind of Sony, the same Sony that takes a crap all over its customers and lies goodness knows how often (but not as much as GW Bush), yet it is ok as long as we have no porn on bluray.

The right wing Republicans are holding back the advancement of science yet again by not allowing full 1080P pornography.

So I gather you would want to live in an immoral world???

So Sony, a Japanese company, doesn't want people distributing porn with their proprietary media format, and you blame it on Bush and the eeevil Republicans?

I thought Dave was the only one this brain dead.

Your right on the money...way too funny.....where`s Dave btw???

I don't really care for big brother telling me what I can or can't watch. I am kind of surprised that no one is in favor of this where are right wingers?

I believe I saw one the other week, but he was quickly shown the door after a page of off-topic revelations.

Sony has been given a knew meaning this year and its called suicide.

When your government takes a stand on such an issue, do you ask yourself why or do you tell yourself that it is for your own good and that is it?

whats your point??

A comment to Gizmodo from Marty Gordon, Vice Chair of the Blu-ray Disc Association, reinforces our findings of adult content on Blu-ray. ?There is not a prohibition against adult content,? said Gordon. ?The BDA is an open organization that welcomes the participation of all companies interested in using and supporting the format, including those that represent the full spectrum of genres in the content industry.?

Hearing the outcry from the porn community, the neocons at Sony have decided to go with the flow to ensure hefty profits for the rich, while the poor get poorer under Republican rule because they must spend their coin on bluray disc players, socialized medicine could ease the burden on Americans and allow them the extra funds to purchase bluray players to view their favorite porn flicks in 1080P.

Republican morality being lieing to its people (Bush and Iraq) while trying to force its agenda down the throat of its citizens?

((out of character: I am having way too much fun with this thread, I cant believe some of you are actually taking it seriously, it is obviously a joke))

Jan. 27 - Big spender Kim Jong Il of North Korea is cut off from luxury goods exports sent from the United States.

Following the country's underground nuclear test in November, the U.S. drew up its list of banned goods, adding to bans on military supplies and weapons shipments.

This ban means no more iPods, jewelry or jetskis, fancy cars or cognac for the leader and his favorite families.

The ban no doubt includes the critical audio/visual equipment needed for this leader to view his pornography. We all know that Kim Jong ill harbors some suppressed sexual feelings, as evident by that right ring propaganda film, "Team America: World Police," which portrayed the greatest documentary maker of all time, Mike Moore as nothing but a suicide bomber. This could lead to him becoming even more of a monster than before. We all know how often iPod videos are used to store one's porn collection, this means that Kim Jong will only get more cranky. This is a very poor move on behalf of the Republicans who hate North Korea's people and all those who are not wealthy white males. The back lash is probably going to be suffering of the North Korean people because their leader will most likely channel his frustration to abuse.

am I the only one thinks blu-ray should die? because really sony trying too hard for us buy there format. like I feel they trying shove the ****** down my throat I don't get this vibe from hd-dvd. don't get me wrong I'm playstion 1,2 fan not sure with ps3 and some sony products.

I saw Dave down at the Exxon station. He drove down to get some cheap gas for his SUV and boat in tow, and pack up a couple illegals into the trunk. Linus Torvalds was with him. I gave them (the illegals) all my money, asked for forgiveness for being a successful white male (in broken Spanish), and then told Dave about this thread.

Needless to say, he wasn't amused.

WHAT THE FVCK are you spewing?

LOL

You realize not ONE member of Sony's board of directors OR Presidents are American, right? You realize Sony has had conflicts with the US because the laws of Japan are FAR different than those in the USA, right? And, you DO realize the majority of porn produced in the world comes from Japan...right?

This right wing conspiracy bullshit is getting old.

Last I checked cognac wasn't made in the US. I also wasn't aware that the US has a monopoly on jewelery and fancy cars.

I doubt he'll have a hard time getting an ipod.

I don't think KJI has any need for pornography. One of the benefits of being a despotic leader who styles himself a demi-god is that you get to order people to do anything you want them to...

An Oconomowoc man is facing charges after he kicked in the door of a neighboring apartment to rescue a woman who he thought was being raped.

But the screams for help were coming from a pornographic movie that his upstairs neighbor was watching. Van Iveren is facing three criminal charges. Police have seized his sword, which is a family heirloom. When James Van Iveren heard the cries for help, he said that he grabbed a collector sword in his apartment and bounded out the door. He kicked in the door upstairs and confronted his neighbor
In a town none other than OCONOMOWOC! A man trying to do what he thought was the right thing has been booked on criminal charges, they even took the poor man's sword away. Would you have stood by gripping your sword, waiting for the police? Or would you have gone to rescue a lady in distress if you were in his shoes?

I haven't paid any attention to the ray wars because I'm still on VCR tapes and CD's.

I'm not rich like you folks.

That being said it is hysterical to see the big business policy of the Republicans bite themselves in thier collective asses.

Only because I don't have an SUV or any illegals.

I do however make a living on Linux and know espanol. 😀
