Looks like the family values crowd is more like the sexually repressed crowd.

Al Gore invented the internet. The internet is for porn. Conservatives <3 porn.

Therefore, conservatives <3 Al Gore.

QED.

Easily explained.........

Conservatives naturally have more money and thus can afford the "pay site" porn while the liberals settle for the "free porn".

As a reult of this study, look for a push for a "socialized porn industry" so everyone can equally share all porn.........

because porn= "sexually repressed"?

Oh and it's all based on if you buy the premise of the "news" article which is weak at best.

It's funny, but the only people that have paid me to cleanup the porn on their computers were social conservatives. My liberal clients don't seem to have the same hangups about the subject.

The funniest one happened about 4 years ago. One afternoon the husband calls me asking me if I can come do a porn cleanup that same afternoon. 30 minutes later his wife calls me asking me to come check their system as she suspected her husband had been viewing porn. I ended up turning it down and canceling the appointment. Those pesky (sexually repressed) social conservatives :)

I have no problem with saying conservatives are sexually repressed, but you are right about the quality of the evidence. When one thinks of all the religious conservatives, including preachers and bible thumpers caught with little boys or painted girls, one wouldn't be hard pressed to come to some conclusions about their attitudes about sex.

The evidence is titillating, erm, so to speak, but not definitive. How would one get accurate information out of the sexually repressed? You probably couldn't rely on it. They'd lie.

Wow! And when I owned a shop in an almost totally liberal, democratic voting college town almost exclusively all the people I had come in or the people I visited in their homes to clean up the porn on their systems were liberals!:D

See how that works!;)

Did you read past the headline? I guess not. It's not exactly true. They had to massage the data to get the headline they wanted...

After controlling for differences in broadband internet access between states
and adjusting for population

So it looks like they are using a "controlled" rate of use - not actual real numbers of use. But you leftist keep going on and on if you wish.

Wow. I guess people are suckers for no-factual "statistics" every minute. Isn't that what PT Barnum said?

Well we know conservatives are closet gays so it's probably the gay porn industry that's thriving in the conservative states

Or maybe Conservatives aren't against censorship and running peoples lives.

PMRC - Tipper Gore
Communications Decency Act - Sponsored and passed by democrats
ESRB - spawned due to congressional hearings by Leiberman and Herb Kohl - both democrats

It's funny how libs forget how much their party likes to censor.

The porn industry is overwhelmingly liberal and supports democrats (think larry flynt and hef). Prosecutions against porn companies went up during the bush admin while they were relatively safe with the clinton admin. Sorry, your hypothesis doesn't add up cpa

Actually the democrats move from places like California and New York to Red states to try to change the vote population balance. Delaware is a prime example of this, used to be Red, now blue. It's the democrats that are consuming the porn.

 I know when the democrats call me up I will move to wherever they need me

Why not? You can get the government to pay for the house.

Really? Where at?

Womens rights, Terri Schaivo, gay marriage, "free speech zones"...any of this ring a bell?
Funny to see someone use Leiberman as a Dem icon in that context though, good one! ;)
Not saying the Dems are faultless here when it comes to the issue of liberty, but please cut the shit.

What's funny is watching someone try to invalidate the clear sexual dysfunctions of the religious right, who are conservatives. The hypocrisy of the South in particular is just fascinating, and pairs quite nicely with the "abstinence-only" touting conservative South/Southwest having the highest rates of teen pregnancy. To ignore the sex theme here you'd have to be either an idiot, completely partisan, or both.

On the road to New Orleans from Florida I'd always pass this porn place right over the state line in Alabama, and parked outside were always tons of cars with Escambia County Florida plates on them. The most church overrun portion of the country. LOL!

I guess to the same end, all those lazy liberal have to do all day is find free porn sites, where the good old hard working conservatives don't have time for such luxuries and have to pay to see some.

I think the most important question that has been raised, is who still pays for porn?

The only reason I can see to do it is for an extremely limited fetish that is grossly underrepresented in the free market. I mean damn it.

I always thought "Do as I say, not as I do" was the official social conservative mantra.
