The real crime is trying to grow leaner pork. Pork is my favorite meat, but lean pork is probably my least favorite -- that or boneless, skinless chicken breast.

Unfortunately I don't have a choice because everything is made in china, hence why I said it would be nice if companies stopped thinking with their wallets and started thinking with their head, and stopped outsourcing manufacturing to 10 year old slaves all the way on the other side of the planet.

It's sad really, even PENCILS are made in China. We have one of the largest lumber and mining industries, there is no reason to outsource the manufacturing of such simple items.

Actually, his TV and Computer components are most likely made in Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, or Japan. Also last time I checked, you don't eat televisions. Or maybe you do.

Somehow they manage to do it cheaper, and more often than not with quality that is at least acceptable for the price. I see american consumers turning down superior american made products in favor of lower quality, but cheap and pretty, foreign made items all the time. The fact is that if the american made items don't offer an advantage that is equivalent to their price premium I don't blame them. Many of the ones who do buy american do so because they think they are supporting some labor union or other when the companies they buy from are obviously dumping large amounts of money into foreign manufacturing for virtually all their new items. Not to mention that the labor unions themselves are probably a big reason for the price disparity. I'd be a hypocrite if I blamed the companies for going where they can make the most money. I'd also be a hypocrite if I blamed the consumer for not buying something that is inordinately expensive for what they are getting. I'd be fool if I thought america should reduce its workforce standards to that of the chinese and indians in order to compete on price. The only thing I think would help would be a kind of trade isolationism that just isn't going to happen, and maybe I'm wrong about even that.
