Popup blocked for firefox

Some pages are able to avoid firefox popup blocker using javascript, but require it to function correctly, is there some extra popup blocker or way block that javascript popups?
 
The Fasterfox plugin has some kind of built-in popup blocker for special kinds of popups. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it's worth trying.
