I installed some koni yellows and eibach prokit springs last year.
Yesterday I noticed a popping noise from my front right wheel when going over small undulations in the road. Turned out I hadn't tightened the shock insert bolt to the bottom of the OE strut housing and it loosened up and fell out. The popping was the insert bobbing up and down in the housing. I found a replacement bolt, installed it, and that stopped the popping.
But then I realized I'd been hearing that noise from the front left wheel well for quite some time. I inspected that shock. It is not missing the bolt, and is perfectly tight...yet the noise...
Compression->rebound is fine but steady state->rebound (such as if a portion of the road drops from under the car) causes the short pop noise. Any thoughts?
