I don't know about you but unless the employee confirms that she was disciplined in the past or the employer provides proof of her being written up in the past, as claimed, then I'm going to lean to the side that if this employer is enough of an ass to demand that she pay him back for the robbery then he's enough of an ass to lie about her having had a problem with making timely cash drops. Besides that, is she the manager or do they just let all employees handle the cash drops? My wife worked in fast food out of high school and she said that the managers always handled removing and adding cash to the registers, even having extra cash trays ready to make quick changes to avoid delays during rush periods.
Either way, the owner was an ass for demanding that she pay the money back or lose her job. The fact that he is now offering her a return to her job and $2,000 in "back pay" makes it seem that he is backtracking really fast.
