Popeyes customer pulls a gun after being told there were no more chicken sandwiches

Based on the story, it reads more like there was an altercation that led one of them, likely a young male, to think that chest-beating was the appropriate response. Sounds more like young kids being absolute idiots than specifically a crazy person thinking that threats of violence would make chicken sandwiches appear. Not that it doesn't make the situation any more ridiculous of course.

right, but it used to be that such events led to a dramatic spork fight, or maybe regular old fisticuffs.

Nowadays, it seems that the only acceptable outcome to these tiffs is a freedom-inspiring shooting event. At least, that's what the jihadist NRA wants the USA to look like every time we set foot in a fast food joint.

You know, I would actually support legalization of fistfight to first blood. I swear we'd fix a lot of problems if people were permitted to punch the shit out of each other occasionally.

I've always said that warfare should go back to sword & board, cavalry (horse) charges and such. Modern media and news and all of that, the entire concept of warfare would probably disappear after a couple of such engagements.

Besides universal illiteracy, ignorance, and the complete lack of news media, there wasn't anything the average person could really do about being involved in such combat under a feudal system. Now, citizens of the most powerful countries in the world have the power to vote out the people that send them off to pointless slaughter. The more technology has improved for the soldier and the commanders, the further they have been removed from their targets, the less humanity really exists in the reality of what warfare actually is.

Let's go back to skull smashing with giant hammers and scrotum-gauging with pick-axes. That'll learn real fast.

whoa, that's a thing now?

I've always been curious about having the lens implants, but I'm always concerned about the 10, 15, 20 year situation down the road....

Yes it is great. I'd had cataracts for about 10 years, but I kept putting it off as I am very nervous about messing with my eyes. I finally got tired of looking through the greasy glass effects. Picked a top surgeon and went for a consultation. They could do just a lens replacement which I would still need glasses , but was fully covered by insurance. Or do advanced measurements and correct the vision in both eyes and not need glasses with the possible exception of reading up close, this also included laser surgery to cut up the hardened lens over the manual method ultrasound which is more intrusive. This cost me an additional 2,400 dollars on each eye. It was worth every dime of the additional money! Each eye was done a week apart and the results were immediate. The blue blocker filter is great.
Before I was wearing bifocals, now I can do most anything without glasses at all. The only thing I need readers for is very fine print or in low light and small print.

I know some people that have had lenses in excess of 12 years with no issues at all. And when you're my age who gives a shit! 😛
