Pope worries about gap between the rich and poor

Pope Benedict XVI urged world leaders on Monday to try to reduce the growing gap between the rich and the poor

In addition to issues such as bond market yields and interest rates, world leaders should focus on "the increasing differences between those few who grow ever richer and the many who grow hopelessly poorer

The financial crisis took root, he said, "because profit was all too often made absolute, to the detriment of labor, and because of unrestrained ventures in the financial areas of the economy, rather than attending to the real economy."

He urged people to resist the temptations for "short-term interests" at the expense of the common good.

But not as much as he would if we were not on the rich side.

Nah, he likes the non super rich people that donate 10% of their income rather than the super rich who don't go to church because they think jesus is two steps below themselves.

Edit: I wonder how many more groups of people I can offend with only 1 sentence.

The irony (or not-irony) is that religion tends to thrive in places with the most income inequality. Example: Latin America. Countries with less inequality and more hardcore socialism tend to be less religious. Example: Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, etc
