POP3 Email Fowarder

Looking for something like the POP3 Connector for exchange. But free and can go out and grab a pop3 email a distribute it to multiple accounts.


Something like chimera's but will redirect to multiple accounts

You will be better off leveraging your Exchange server.

Either set that PoP3 account to forward email to your distribution group on the PoP3 account's side

or

if you own the domain name that has the PoP3 account, set your Exchange server to accept mail for that domain, then set up that email address as a distribution group

or

Direct the public to use a new email address for contacts.

Need a pop3 connector for this, thats why im trying to find something free, exchange 2010 doesnt have any free options right now that i know off

This is dumb. Why not just make a mail enabled distribution group? Clients can connect to Exchange with POP3 out of the box. What you are trying to do with very little explanation seems kind of retarded.

Nah I am just learning as I go I didnt know anything before I started

Our email service is not on site, currently we are paying some one to host our email.

So I need something to go out and grab our service@ourdomain.com email off their server and distribute it to two email addresses

Even if it is being hosted off site doesn't someone at your company have access to it to do admin stuff like adding accounts and deleting accounts? If so, why can't they just set up a forwarder for that address?

Yeah, I have it but the hosting companies software sucks. I can see where I can add a forwarder but I can only add 1 email address

You make that one email address the distribution group.

Example:

offsite email is service@blah.com

make a distribution group with the email address as service@blahblah.com

Add the individual users as members of service@blahblah.com

On the PoP3 servers side, forward service@blah.com to service@blahblah.com.

Everyone who is a member of service@blahblah.com will get their own copy delivered to their individual mailboxes.

your making this more complicated than it should be. Like people have said before. Setup a mail forwarding on your pop3 account to forward email to a distribution email account on the exchange server. then have that distribution email account send it the email to account that need the email from your pop 3 account.

You're right I probably right I am, I was thinking of exchange going out and actually getting the pop3 email like the pop3 connector does for SBS. Ill see what I can come up with thanks

Our exchange normally just handles our internal emails

Alright Ive been playing around with it couple of questions
Our local office ip doesn't have a domain name registered to it. How can I forward email to it? Other than registering a free domain name to it

So far I have added ourdomain.com to accepted domains set it to internal relay
configureda receive connector for mail.ourdomain.com to receive mail to the local server IP


Created a distribution group service@domain.local



then port map 25 to the local server

why don't you spend $19 for 5 ips (comcast business). they do full reverse dns and you can assign forward dns through your host.

their ip's are clean too. not banned like home comcast.

pop 3 forwarding makes ALOT of sense - a pair of qmail servers with clamav/spamass on separate networks with 1and1 Nemesis MX backup (free service from 1and1) then keep your exchange 100% behind the firewall vpn only.

very smart use of pop3. Throw in a dual-wan router $150 and add another isp for backup and you have some redundancy.

That is what i'd do. SaaS is great - until it breaks. like voip, email is the jugular of business nowadays!

Ill be hosting our own email server and website soon we already have cox business and a static. I was going to use hmailserver seems simple and I can pull in spam databases. Ive already set it up and tested it and got everything work. But Ill look into the qmail before I actually put everything online. I just needed a temporary solution
